A family’s plea to help their young Cockapoo with heart problems lead a normal life: a new life begun

Owners of a 4-month-old puppy with 2 heart conditions are hoping they can save him.

To have him operated, they created an online kitty, as the interventions and care are very expensive.

Hannah Knowles, her mother Denise Price and her companion Wayne Austen didn’t know what to do when their two dogs disappeared.

This family from Tidworth, in the south of England, does not want to lose a third, a seriously ill young female Cockapoo (English Cocker/Poodle mix).

In early December 2021, she adopted this dog called Teddy.

Everything was going well, especially since she got along wonderfully with their other dog Ke-Ke, a 4-year-old Miniature Schnauzer.

However, 3 to 4 weeks after his adoption, a veterinary examination resulted in a terrible diagnosis.

It turned out that Teddy had 2 heart conditions: pulmonary stenosis and persistent ductus arteriosus.

Because of the latter, the female dog is at risk of having a heart attack within 6 to 9 months.

„For pulmonary stenosis, vets give a life expectancy of 18 months to 2 years,“ Denise Price told the Salisbury Journal.

However, they assure that the 17-week-old puppy has a 95% chance of leading a normal life.

The only solution is if he is successfully operated on.

According to his mistress, the first intervention, aimed at correcting the persistence of the arterial canal, can be carried out as soon as Teddy’s weight reaches 4 kilograms.

In other words, not before 2 months. Each of the 2 operations should cost around 5000 pounds.

The family must therefore have 10,000 pounds (about 12,000 euros), and to achieve this, it has launched a kitty on the GoFundMe platform.
