Australian family rescues ‘puppy’ – that animal turns out to be a rare purebred dingo

Interessante Gerüchte

Jane Guiney of Wandiligong, Victoria, Australia, was perplexed when she noticed a little animal in her backyard.

Jane assumed the weird thing was a dog when she approached it.

Assuming the child had been dumped by a predator, the lady took him inside to care for him.

However, after a few days, she was startled to discover that the pup she had saved was actually a rare wild dingo.

Jane took care of the puppy and fed him because it was the weekend when he was discovered.

The next day, she went immediately to the neighborhood vet in an attempt to unravel the riddle.

The vet quickly determined it wasn’t a typical puppy, so the clinic contacted the Australian Dingo Foundation, a refuge dedicated to the conservation of the endangered dingo species.

It was then that they discovered the rescue „puppy“ was actually a 5-week-old purebred dingo.

Wandi, the miraculous pup, was transferred to the refuge and matched with another dingo offspring his age.

Wandi would be a vital element of the Australian Dingo Foundation’s breeding effort, according to Lyn Watson, director of the Australian Dingo Foundation.

Dingoes, which are native to Australia, have seen their numbers plummet in recent years owing to poaching and habitat destruction.

Dingoes have been designated as a vulnerable species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources.
