Blind Golden Retriever gets his own guide puppy to help him explore the world

Dogs are definitely a gift to all of us. They’re not just wonderful friends who brighten our days, but they’re also essential companions for those who have medical or developmental challenges.

Guide dogs for the blind, also known as seeing eye dogs, are very special dogs with extraordinary skills and who have been properly taught to provide help and escort a person with limited eyesight or who is entirely blind through a completely dark world.

That’s what we’d call a one-of-a-kind partner. It turns out that these one-of-a-kind pups are assisting not only people, but also other dogs in need.

It’s the case of Tao, a 10-year-old Golden Retriever with his own guide puppy to assist him in his explorations of the world.

Unfortunately, Tao’s eyesight was lost owing to a condition known as glaucoma. Melania, Tao’s human, was absolutely devastated by the news, and she feared the worst.

The senior Golden Retriever, on the other hand, proved to be a true fighter. Even still, blindness proved to be a significant barrier for him.

But all of that changed when he met Oko, an 11-week-old therapy puppy.

Despite the fact that he won’t be able to travel the world as much as he used to, Tao appears to be happier than ever with his new pal.

Not only does Oka guide Tao, but he also allows him to see the world through his eyes. He’s only a guiding dog, but he’s a very special one.
