Man quits his job to travel the world with his rescue ferret companion

Positive Schwingungen

Charlie Hammerton, a 25-year-old man from Cornwall in the United Kingdom, was having a particularly difficult time. The young man lost the most important people in his life in a short period of time, including his mother and best friend.

Charlie began to experience depression, and nothing appeared to be able to assist him get through these trying moments.

Fortunately, Charlie’s assistance came in the form of a cute ferret he had rescued and his desire to tour the world. So he abandoned his job as an RAF (Royal Air Force) airman, sold everything he owned, and embarked on a journey around the globe with Bandit, his canine companion.

„I had an extremely bad experience and suffered major depression,“ Charlie explained. „I’d had a string of poor luck…but I’d determined that wasn’t who I wanted to be.“ I sold everything and flew away. I was able to transform the bad energy into something positive.“

The two, who inevitably became inseparable friends, began their European adventure in a camper van in February 2018.

Since then, Charlie and Bandit have visited over 25 cities in 11 countries, including Germany, Sweden, Norway, France, and Spain, and their adventure, according to them, is far from over.

“Travelling was the most amazing experience of my life and it was completely liberating,” Charlie said. “We followed the sun across the world and camped under the stars in amazing places.

It was incredible to do it with Bandit. He has seen me at my best and my worst and has always been with me. Bandit has been with me through thick and thin.
